About the episode

Jessica did a 4 episode stint in the 2nd (and last) season of this critically acclaimed, but short lived (there seems to be a lot of those) TV series produced by Steven Bochco for ABC. Jessica played an assistant DA during the Ricky Latrelle case. Her character, (Paige Weikopf) was a driven and successful (but ultimately unethical) attorney who had aspirations of being a TV sports caster. During the case, Paige was discovered to have been leaking information to the defense in exchange for a chance at a being a sports caster.  When she was caught by Jimmy Wyler (Anthony LaPaglia) she first told him she would do "anything" if he didn't turn her in, but when he turned her down and went to the judge about her, Paige told the judge that Jimmy made the accusation on her up because she resisted his "sexual advances".  Later on, the judge of the case receives Paige's sports caster audition tape in the mail, as well as other information against her, and kicks Paige off the trial and out of the court.  At the end of the trial, Paige returns to Jimmy to try and get a job with him, but is turned down since he obviously can't trust her as was proved during the trial.

Comments
This was a different character for Jessica to play.  I believe this was one of the few times (if not the only time) Jessica actually played a character that was cold, unethical and ruthless (to the point of doing anything to save her own career).
